In his book, Robb drops some truth bombs about the link between poor sleep and overeating. The two go hand-in-hand as a result of the influence our sleeping habits have on a hormone known as ghrelin. Ghrelin is produced by the cells that line our stomachs, the epsilon cells on our pancreases (or is it pancrei?), plus the hypothamalic arcuate nucleus (thanks for the massive words, Robb!) within our brains. This hormone does 3 things. It makes us hungry. Makes us desire to eat more food. And it makes us fatter. Precisely what you were looking for!
